Passion House - You/re My Best Friend
“You’re My Best Friend” is comprised of heirloom Bourbon and Kent varietals, which are harvested at peak ripeness. Cherries are then dried in the sun for 21 days, being carefully rotated to ensure even drying. The cherries are then shipped to the nearby town of Moshi where they are milled, bagged, and sent off to be exported. In addition to their knowledge of coffee growing, the owners of Finca Mlama brought their steadfast commitment to sustainability - the farm is certified by the Rainforest Alliance, one of the most difficult certifications to earn.

Tanzania’s potential as a coffee growing country is very exciting to us at Passion House - while it lacks the reputation of its neighbors Kenya and Rwanda, there is significant potential for top-notch coffees to grow in Tanzania. Our friends at Finca Mlama in the Kilimanjaro region are spearheading this development, bringing their experience managing successful coffee farms in Colombia to farms in Tanzania.
The roasted coffee shows a range of fruit-forward notes that natural processed coffees have become known for, including blueberry, cherry, and peach. A warming note of baking spices rounds out the finish. Once you taste this beauty you’ll understand why we call it “You’re My Best Friend”!
