Jimmy (Owner and Roaster)
Jimmy is a renegade do-it-yourselfer with a penchant for real estate, fast cars, and coffee shops. He got his start roasting coffee on a fateful camping trip with only a cast iron skillet on hand. Inspired, he modified an outdoor chimney to try his hand at roasting at home. As he honed his skills, his friends kept coming back for more. It was only a matter of time until he started popping up in farmers markets and trade shows, and eventually he decided to create a funky space where he could roast, teach, and share his love of coffee with everyone.
In addition to being the head of a burgeoning coffee empire, Jimmy is a dedicated husband and dad and he likes to run and bike his way all over Chicago.
Dee Dee (Roaster)
Dee Dee is a Diedrich Coffee Roaster. Although she hails from the small city of Ponderay, Idaho, she has spent years in Chicago cultivating a very cosmopolitan personality and appreciation for specialty coffee. Out of all the staff, she is probably the hardest working. She likes filling the shop and upstairs porch with the smell of freshly roasted coffee. Dee Dee has been compared to the Little Engine that Could and when she's not busy roasting she likes to daydream about the next batch.
